RUSTLING [open]

There wasn't much to do in the valleys. Really, it was just... Grass. Sure, there was some water here and there, but the only thing to do was to watch the grass grow or watch the sky. Well, she could be watching the cattle, but those things could take care of themselves. They had enough horns to keep themselves safe, and they only needed her to watch them when the calves tried to sneak off. So, what was a lone girl to do on such a boring night? Stare up at the sky. Ugh, boring.

She was currently perched on the roof of the giant barn that would have held the cattle had it not been for the stubborn bovine wanting to stay outside during the summer nights. She couldn't blame them. The sunlight was horrible, especially during the summer, and the heat would kill anyone who wasn't protected from it. Those lava things must have it easy until the winter came. A soft sigh passed through her lips as she stared up at the sky, watching the three moons slowly pass over the sky. She had her arms folded behind her head, acting as some sort of makeshift pillow. Her legs hung off the edge of the roof, dangling with the breeze whenever it decided to grace her with its presence. That wasn't often. Even without the sun's harsh rays, Chronos nights were still unbearable. She was used to warmer temperatures, but at least she had lived in an area that had rain. These valleys were going to kill her from dehydration if the cattle didn't get to her first. She could swear some of them were giving her the stink eye.

Her ears twitched, picking up the rustling of grass. Xiyara slowly sat up, tilting her head to the side as her ears swiveled, straining to locate the direction the rustling was coming from. Dark eyes swept across the farmland, glinting in the darkness when they caught the moonlight. The cattle were still in there original positions, taking their sweet time grazing. The Ilet arched a thin eyebrow in confusion, slipping off the roof of the barn and dropping to the ground, landing with a soft oof on her feet. Her head turned, eyes still scanning to try and located where the rustling was coming from. She tensed, the fur on her tail bristling as something brushed up against her tail. She slowly turned, only to find that one of the calves had indeed strayed away from the herd and was trying to graze on her tail.

She visibly relaxed, giving a sheepish grin as she crouched down, gently pushing away the head that tried to reach for her tail once more. "No, no." She cooed, rubbing the bovine on the snout as she stood back up, bringing the head with her to make sure it didn't take a nip out of her tail. "That's my tail, not yours." The calf only stared at her, blinking owlishly at the girl. At least the calves didn't give her too much trouble. It was the adults she didn't want to mess with. They were the ones with the six or so fully developed horns that could easily impale someone like her. She shivered at the thought, shaking her head.
