welcome to silence of the abyss, a sci-fi animanga roleplay. we are set in the year 2070, just five years after the zhuic invasion on earth. we welcome you to chronos vii, a planet far from the solar system which we once called home, filled with beautiful creatures and intelligent life. while their world may seem similar to ours, there are differences everywhere, from the giant trees holding the onzhu to the ice sheets that cover 49% of the planet, home of the iraxu. on this planet you will find that which you least expect. you may find adventure, you may find romance, you may even find yourself in a tight situation. it all depends on what you find within the silence of the abyss.

the creator of both sota and the mother site, space adventures, kyuu is one hell of an admin. she can keep a 'calm' attitude in just about any situation, though she's secretly laughing on the other side of the screen. what? if the situation amuses her, she'll laugh, even if she's getting screamed at by a member. she has a tendency to procrastinate, but reminding her will kick her into gear. she's relatively easy to get along with, and she'll try to make your experience here a good one.

this girl has been with the creator from the start. not only do they live in the same state, but they met on one hell of a forum. she was a mod on space adventures and has now climbed the ladder up to administrator for sota. she's full of ideas, so she's a go-to person when kyuu can't think of anything. she also likes to talk in neon green with her caps lock on, so don't be afraid when you first enter the chatbox. she's easy to get along with, though she, too, has a tendency to procrastinate. well, what good staff member doesn't? hehe.

well, it's safe to say all the staff members know each other from another site. this one lives in canada, unlike the others who live in america, and is always a joy to be around. her favorite character just so happens to be lemongrab, and anyone else would simply be UNACCEPTABLE! ONE MILLION YEARS DUNGEON. ahem. she likes her ohnzu with their cute little wings and their bee-like ways. she isn't biased. no, not at all.

SUMMER, 2070 -- YEAR ONE
it's summer on chronos vii, also known as the hottest six months you will even experience. yes, six months. it's the longest season on chronos vii, and it can reach temperatures up to 170°F during the day. it is advised that no one leaves their homes until dusk, when the temperatures drops back down to the 90's. to those who have lived in the heat of chronos vii, that is pretty cold for the summer. expect intense heat and harsh sunlight during the day. heavy thunderstorms and lightning storms may appear from time to time. do not go outside during these storms as the rain will be boiling hot to the touch. to those who are living in the polar icecaps, you will be seeing some melting ice and snow. do not fret, however, as the temperature is only going to reach 40°F, allowing for the wildlife to thrive for the next few months.

silence of the abyss was created by KYUU with the aid of SNIGGER. the basic skin was found on HITSKINS and edited by KYUU. all characters, sub-plots, and posts belong to the MEMBERS OF SOTA. please do not steal.
oo1. respect the staff and your fellow members. if you hate someone, then pretend you love them. simple as that.
oo2. keep out of character cursing to a minimum. we don't need the f-bomb everywhere.
oo3. do not join and then leave! stay as active as possible, even if it just means logging in and talking in the chat. if you are gone for more than two weeks without posting about your absence, then you will be deleted.
oo4. if you are unsure about anything, ask kyuu! she's just a pm away.
oo5. do not give away personal information such as phone numbers, ages (if you are younger than thirteen), addresses, emails, etc. unless you know the person well enough.
oo6. do not click on the giant advertisements. just. don't. not even if it says you won something.
oo7. don't brag. don't gloat. don't do stuff just to make yourself seem better.
oo8. do not double post unless in your tracker.
Characters!
ooo. absolutely no perfect characters.
oo1. you may have as many characters as you want; however, don't make a ton of characters at the start and leave them in the dust.
oo2. you are only allowed to play the four races that are shown under the races thread.
oo3. please remember that humans can only have natural hair/eye colors. the 'unnatural' colors come into play only for the natives of chronos vii.
oo4. we have age minimums. just check the races thread.
oo5. only two of your characters may have powers. those powers will be moderated by lucid. if she sees something wrong with the power you have, such as being overpowered, then she will post in your bio. powered characters must be dual accepted, meaning lucid will post saying whether she accepts the power or not before an admin comes to accept the character as a whole. powers characters will only be human or ilet (ilet being the ones with myth genes).
oo6. we allow every sexuality. if you are uncomfortable with yaoi, yuri, or inter-racial relations, then this is not the site for you.
oo7. for humans, they have masters. why? because they are enslaved by the zhuician empire, the whole reason why they are on chronos vii. when you create a human, their master will be an npc unless you plot out with a member who owns/is creating a zhuic. high ranking zhuic, typically in the army, can have multiple slaves, but the cap will be at five.
oo8. pets are allowed for all but humans at the start. we do not have a set list of creatures on chronos vii, so you have free reign on that matter. they can be giant versions of earth creatures, mutant whatevers, based off mythology, whatever. bring in the avatar creatures if you want. just don't go taming dangerous creatures that would otherwise kill you.
oo9. technology is also free reign. for weapons, only the zhuic actually have guns and the like. the iraxu have bows, spears, daggars, and swords (lower technology, so they may be made of wood, bones, stones, etc.). the onzhu don't really fight since they're more workers than anything else, but the guards would have spears and swords.
o1o. if you want to do a little splicing, please pm kyuu about it first. she must approve of any splices we add.
Posting!
oo1. we do not have a word count! however, we do not allow one liners. try to post at least one good paragraph for each in character post.
oo2. keep up activity! try to post at least once in character a week.
oo3. please try to keep a posting order when you're in a thread with more than two people.
oo4. do not have your characters in a relationship with each other. family is fine, but being your own romance partner is a little weird. it's also more fun if it's with another person.
oo5. if you want to make a site-wide plot, please message kyuu about your idea. she will then consult with the rest of the staff team.
oo6. spell check is your friend. ouo
oo7. if your character and another character get a little intimate, please fade to black before anything major happens. we don't need innocent little eyes stumbling upon your thread, only to be scarred for life. with that said: mark your threads MATURE if you are going to have graphic violence or graphic relationships.
oo8. do not powerplay, godmod, or autohit.
Images!
oo1. avatars must be 150 X 200 pixels.
oo2. signatures cannot be larger than 500 X 500 pixels.
oo3. do not have images of nude/scantily clad people. shirtless men are fine, but anything less is not.
oo4. try not to go overboard on the gifs. we don't need the forum to load slowly.
oo5. posting tables are absolutely fine. just make sure the colors don't blind anyone.
