APPEARANCE:
Lars is the average height, at around 5'2. He is very thin and lean with hidden muscle mass. He has scruffy gray-white hair, which follows up to his ears. His tail is on the short side, and is the same color as his hair with black tabby stripes leading down to the tip. He has dark navy-blue eyes. Lars has a long scar stretching from just above his right eye to the tip of his chin.
PERSONALITY:
Lars generally doesn't talk unless the conversation is initiated by another. Even then, he rarely contributes unless the topic is something that interests him. Lars is absolutely fascinated by medicine and surgery and the like. He has an intense disliking for death, not liking to lose 'his patients'. This dislike is so strong that he has developed a fondness for listening to the sound of a heartbeat; it assures him of someone's life, and is almost a surefire way of calming him down.
Outside of the clinic, he has a tendency to be awkward and aggressive, wary of everything. He hasn't had much of a chance to define his 'people skills', preferring the company of medical notes and instruments.
He dislikes when others approach his right side, due to partial blindness.
He also has a fondness for his fellow Ilets in the circus he works at.
HISTORY
Lars was conceived by an Ilet mother and father on the ship that would later land on Chronos VII. While on the ship, he gained an interest in medical science, and so began training in that field as a teenager. He lost his first patient at seventeen; at the time, he was a doctor's assistant, and the patient was an Ilet woman who was giving birth four months too early. Both her an the baby died. After this incident, he became increasingly quiet and depressed, but continued on with his dream nonetheless.
He was generally who one might go to for check-ups; this is where he developed his fondness for the sound of a heartbeat, as it let him know his patient was alive and well.

After a few years, his ship made contact with Chronos VII. He was commissioned as a medic in the ensuing war. He was captured when a message sent to him was intercepted by the attacking Zhuics and he was ambushed trying to get to his injured comrades. In the process, a Zhuic managed to slice at him with a long, curved blade, gashing his face deeply and blinding him in one eye. He was held in a prison for several months while the war raged. As soon as his people lost, he was thrown into the slave markets. Being that his only skills were dealing with medicine, not many wanted him. Eventually a circus master bought him to keep his performers' health up-to-date.
